You are about to give the Business Benchmark a secure, read-only connection to your Xero accounting software. Here is exactly what that means, in plain English, before you go ahead.

What we look at

Only the accounting figures needed to build your benchmark:

• Your invoices - your sales and supplier invoices, including amounts, dates, and when they were paid. This is how we measure how quickly you get paid and how quickly you pay others.
• Your sales totals - monthly and quarterly revenue, so we can show your trend against the group.
• Your GST, PAYG and super figures - the tax amounts from your activity statements (BAS), so we can look at tax timing. These are the amounts you report and owe to the ATO, not the balance of your bank account.

What you get

A confidential benchmark report, private to you, showing how your business compares with other landscapers on getting paid, cash flow, customer spread and tax timing. Your first report arrives within seven days of connecting, and the comparison gets sharper as more landscapers take part.

How your figures stay private

Your own numbers stay yours alone. We hold them under a random code, not your business name or ABN, so your figures are de-identified from the moment they reach us. To build the group comparison they are pooled with other landscapers'; a benchmark is only ever shown once at least five businesses are in a group, so no single business can be picked out. Your data is encrypted, stored in Australia, and never sold.
